Donn McClean is a highly-respected commentator on horse racing on both sides of the Irish Sea.

The recipient of a Martin Wills Award for quality writing on racing in 1993, he began in journalism as the mainfeatures writer on racing with the Sunday Independent.

He is now the main racing writer with the Sunday Times in Ireland, and writes a weekly betting column for the Irish Field. He has a weekly racing and betting slot on TV3 and on Newstalk Radio, and is a regular contributor to Racing UK, RTE, Sky News and Today FM. Donn has written two best-selling books: Moscow Flyer, the story of the dual Champion Chaser, as told by his trainer Jessica Harrington, and Riding The Storm, the autobiography of jockey Timmy Murphy.
